Andreas Karakatasanis Takes the Helm of Larnaca 2030

Andreas Karakatasanis has been appointed as the director of the "Larnaca 2030" organization, assuming responsibility for preparing and implementing the event as the European Capital of Culture. Mr. Karakatasanis is a Civil Engineer, a graduate of the National Technical University of Athens and Carnegie-Mellon University. He has a long tenure in the Municipality of Larnaca, where he served as Director of Technical Services for 17 years, representing the Municipality at international conferences and presenting technical topics. He also worked at the British Ministry of Defence in the British Bases. Beyond engineering, he has also excelled in education, having been a certified trainer of the Dale Carnegie Course, training over 400 professionals. He has also served as Deputy Director of the Larnaca Sewerage Council and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Cyprus Institute for the Sea and Maritime Affairs. In January 2024, he was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Technological University of Cyprus (TEPAK), where he was elected Vice-President and, following a new appointment, holds the position of President of the TEPAK Board of Directors from July 2025. Mr. Karakatasanis' extensive experience and knowledge are considered crucial for the success of "Larnaca 2030".
