Alafouzou Outspends Marinakis for Antino

Giannis Alafouzou, owner of Panathinaikos FC, is set to invest a significant amount in acquiring the footballer Sandino Antino, surpassing previous record transfers for both Panathinaikos and Olympiacos. The total investment for Antino's acquisition is expected to reach €11.5 million, including the transfer fee and his salary for the first year of the contract. Specifically, the transfer fee amounts to €8.2 million, with an additional €2 million payable to the agency Roc Nation Sports. Antino's salary is estimated at €1.1 million for the first year. This investment exceeds the most expensive transfer in Panathinaikos history, the acquisition of Djibril Cisse under Nikos Pateras' administration, which cost €8 million. It also surpasses the most expensive transfer made during Vangelis Marinakis' tenure at Olympiacos, the acquisition of Strefetza for €8 million. Olympiacos' attempt to sign the Argentinian footballer “Tsoulou” last August was unsuccessful, as an agreement with Godoy Cruz could not be reached. The successful completion of Antino's transfer by Panathinaikos is considered a significant victory for Giannis Alafouzou, despite the high cost.
