Discussion Begins on Traffic Bill Aiming for 'Umbrella' Law in Cyprus

The Parliamentary Committee on Transport, Communications and Works has begun discussing a new bill aimed at tackling the traffic problem in Cyprus. MP Fotini Tsiridou of DISY, who submitted the bill, stated that the goal is to create an 'umbrella' law covering various aspects of traffic and improving the daily lives of citizens. The proposal includes the establishment of traffic management centers in each province, the right to tow vehicles obstructing traffic, the creation of priority lanes, flow zones, school protection zones, and the promotion of teleworking. Furthermore, it provides for the availability of open data on traffic to the public.
