Norway: King Harald’s Health Condition “Good” – Hospitalized

The health condition of the King of Norway, Harald, who was admitted to a hospital in Tenerife suffering from an infection and dehydration, is good, his personal doctor announced. However, the 89-year-old monarch will remain in hospital for a few days for further monitoring and treatment. The King's doctor stated that he is responding to treatment, but stressed that due to his age, the infection is considered serious. He arrived in Tenerife to help local doctors monitor the King's health condition. King Harald has faced health problems in recent years and has modified his official schedule, but he has ruled out abdication. His admission to hospital coincides with a period of successive scandals that are hitting the Norwegian royal family. Despite the scandals, King Harald remains popular in Norway, with citizens rating him a high score of 9.2 out of 10, according to a recent poll. However, the popularity of the monarchy has decreased, with only 60% of Norwegians supporting it.
