Ukraine-Russia Peace Talks to Resume in Abu Dhabi After Deadlock

Ukraine and Russia are set to hold another round of peace talks in Abu Dhabi next Sunday, following an initial meeting that failed to yield concrete results. The talks, which included representatives from the United States, Ukraine, and Russia, focused on economic and military issues, as well as territorial disputes and security guarantees. Despite the lack of an agreement, the US side expresses hope that Vladimir Putin will honor his commitment to a diplomatic solution. It is noted that shortly after the end of the talks, Russia launched a large-scale air attack on Ukraine, which is interpreted as an indication of Russia's position during the negotiations. The meetings were organized by Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, and also included the participation of senior military officials from the US and NATO. Resolving territorial disputes and providing security guarantees to Ukraine remain the main obstacles to achieving peace.
