Another Ballistic Missile Intercepted in Turkey, Says Ministry

Another ballistic missile launched from Iran was intercepted by NATO air defense assets deployed in the Eastern Mediterranean, according to a statement from the Turkish Ministry of National Defense. The missile reportedly did not cause any damage, although debris fell in uninhabited areas in the Gaziantep region. The Turkish Ministry of Defense emphasized that there were no casualties or injuries from the incident. It also underscored the importance of good neighborly relations and regional stability, but warned that any threat against Turkey would be met with determination. Turkey pledged to take all necessary measures to protect its territory and airspace, while also calling on all parties to heed warnings. This incident is the second after a similar missile launch last Wednesday, which was also intercepted by NATO forces. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan had warned Tehran that Turkey would not maintain its composure if such incidents were to repeat. Ankara appears determined to protect its interests in the region.
