New Low-Pressure System to Affect Cyprus from Tuesday Night

A low-pressure system centered over Greece is expected to affect Cyprus from late Tuesday night. According to the Meteorological Department, isolated showers are expected, especially in mountainous, western, and southern areas. Towards dawn on Wednesday, the rains will become more localized and accompanied by isolated thunderstorms, starting from the west. There is a possibility of sleet or snow on the highest peaks of Troodos. Weak low pressure will initially affect the area, with dust in the atmosphere until Wednesday morning. Tonight, the weather will be mainly cloudy, with a chance of local light showers and occasional fog. Winds will be variable, light, with a possible increase from the west. The temperature will drop to around 13 degrees Celsius inland, 15 on the west coast, 14 on the other coasts, and 7 in the higher mountains. Tomorrow, the clouds will recede, but increased clouds are expected to bring local showers and possible short thunderstorms, especially in the western half and later in the north. The possibility of snow or sleet increases on Troodos. Winds will be southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, with a gradual increase on the coasts and in windward areas. The temperature will rise to around 20 degrees Celsius inland, 21 on the south and east coasts, 19 on the other coasts, and 9 in the mountains. Tomorrow night, isolated showers are expected in the mountains, west and south, with localized rains and storms later, starting from the west. Possibility of sleet or snow on Troodos. Winds will be southeasterly to southwesterly, light to moderate, strengthening to moderate to strong in the windward areas. The sea will become up to rough and later wavy on the west.
