UN Envoy Olgin: Will Continue Organizing Society Meetings for Reconciliation

The Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Cyprus, Maria Angela Holguin, emphasizes the importance of the active participation of all Cypriots in the effort for reconciliation, despite the crucial role of leaders. In an opinion article, Ms. Holguin states that changing the status quo requires leaders to build a new model of interaction and make decisions to restart negotiations. She highlights the positive development represented by the Christodoulides-Erhurman meetings and commits to continuing to organize meetings with various stakeholders from both communities. Ms. Holguin specifically mentions workshops and meetings she has organized, such as a workshop for Youth and a seminar with academics, emphasizing the value of maintaining dialogue and collective effort to achieve peace.
