AKEL Accuses President Christodoulides of Obstructing Investigation Due to Personal Involvement

AKEL is launching a fierce criticism against the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, regarding the scandal that has emerged. The party accuses the President of lacking the will for a genuine investigation, claiming that he is personally involved in the mechanism of collusion. AKEL points to the belated resignations and the secrecy surrounding the donors of the controversial entity, as well as a recent publication linking government officials to the 'investor'. The party questions the action of the institutions, such as the Attorney General, the Police and the Anti-Corruption Authority, calling on them to take action and prove their independence. AKEL believes that Mr. Christodoulides, instead of promoting transparency, continues a 'fragile establishment'.
