New Complaint Over Patient Death at Larnaca General Hospital

The daughter of a 92-year-old patient who passed away at Larnaca General Hospital accuses the hospital of serious deficiencies, mishandling, and appalling conditions of care. According to the complaint, her father was admitted with a mild stroke but was transferred to a private clinic due to a lack of beds, where he did not receive clear medical instructions. This led to incorrect feeding, aspiration pneumonia, and a deterioration of his condition. The daughter of the deceased reports delays in providing medical care, such as the placement of a nasogastric tube, and omissions by the nursing staff. Additionally, she claims that the family was forced to assist in placing the tube, while the patient's condition deteriorated rapidly after its placement. The woman claims that there was a lack of patient monitoring and that the family discovered his death upon returning to the hospital. She also reports the deaths of other patients during her family's stay at the hospital. The daughter of the deceased publicly appeals to the President of the Republic, the Minister of Health, and the administration of the OKYPY to intervene immediately and investigate the conditions of care at Larnaca General Hospital.
