New Projects Announced for Paphos Archaeological Sites

The Deputy Minister of Culture, Dr. Vasiliki Kassianidou, visited the Chrysopolitissa archaeological site in Kato Paphos, expressing her satisfaction with the completion of conservation and upgrade works. It was announced that new projects are planned for New Paphos in 2026, focusing on the conservation of mosaics and interventions at the Tombs of the Kings, with emphasis on improving the entrance and visitor facilities. The Chrysopolitissa site houses the remains of the largest early Christian basilica in Cyprus and is part of the Paphos area inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The completion of the pedestrian bridge conservation works is a significant step in protecting the site in anticipation of Cyprus's presidency of the Council of the European Union.
