New Printmaking Exhibition at the Hambis Municipal Printmaking Museum

The Hambis Municipal Printmaking Museum in Nicosia is presenting a new printmaking exhibition from its collection, on the occasion of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of Europe. The exhibition, entitled “The Evolution of Printmaking in Europe from the 16th Century to Today”, focuses on the techniques of woodcut and engraving. It opened to the public on January 21st and was curated by Helene Reeb. The first guided tour was attended by members of the Museum's Advisory Committee, municipal councilors, and museum officials. The exhibition presents a panorama of the two main techniques, emphasizing the variety of periods and themes, as well as the inventiveness of printmakers. The aim is to highlight the role of printmaking in the dissemination of images and artistic creation.
