Modi, Macron and Guterres Call for Global Access to AI

Narendra Modi, António Guterres, and Emmanuel Macron called for guaranteed global access to artificial intelligence and the need to frame its use during the global summit on AI held in New Delhi. Guterres warned that AI must belong to everyone and its future cannot be left to the whims of a few billionaires, while Modi stressed the need for the technology to be accessible and inclusive. Macron stated that Europe is determined to define the rules of the game and to do so with its allies, such as India. The summit was attended by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Google DeepMind head Demis Hassabis, but the participation of Bill Gates was canceled due to his connection to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The participants in the summit are expected to sign a declaration on the framework for the use of AI. The AI revolution is raising concerns about its impact on the environment, employment, artistic creation, education and information. One of the main fears concerns the consequences of AI on the labor market, particularly in India, where millions of people work in call centers and technical support services.
