Non-Alcoholic Beer Market Sees 15% Growth in Greece

The non-alcoholic or low-alcohol beer market in Greece is experiencing dynamic growth, with rates approaching +15%, in contrast to traditional beer, which is seeing lower growth (3%-4%). This shift is considered structural, as no/low alcohol beer has become an alternative choice for consumers. Today, the no/low alcohol category accounts for 4% of the Greek beer market in volume and value, with sales of approximately 168,000 hectoliters, up 53,000 hectoliters from 2023. Athenian Brewery led the trend with Amstel Free in 2014, and today low & no alcohol products account for 4% of its volume. Heineken, although showed a slowdown in the growth of its no/low alcohol products in 2025 (low single-digit percentage), continues to invest in expanding its presence in catering points and launching new products. The Hellenic Brewery of Atalanti saw a 60% increase in non-alcoholic beer sales in 2025, while the Olympic Brewery has the highest percentage (10%) in the domestic market. This growth is due to changes in consumer habits, with younger generations choosing a healthier lifestyle and non-alcoholic beer being devalued and considered an equal choice. There are now over 20 brands of non-alcoholic beer on the Greek market.
