Bulldozers Destroyed Medieval Silos in Strovolos – Works in the Old Municipality Core Will Keep Them Buried

Excavations for sewage works in the Municipality of Strovolos destroyed medieval grain storage silos. The Department of Antiquities documented the silos, but due to their location, they cannot be exhibited and will remain buried. The silos are estimated to date back to the Middle Ages. The Mayor of Strovolos stated that the works for the renovation of the historical core are progressing smoothly, but there were delays due to the archaeological finds and reactions from residents and shopkeepers.
