Bugün Cyprus: Tatar Allegations of Dealings with Murdered Businessman Falyalı

The Bugün Cyprus website has published details regarding potential illegal funding between former Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar, his wife Sibel, and murdered businessman Halil Falyalı. The claims are based on the testimony of Cemil Önal, a close associate of Falyalı, who alleges that Tatar received cash at Falyalı's home for election campaigns and other expenses. According to Önal, Tatar regularly visited Falyalı's home, receiving cash for various needs. Additionally, Önal claims that money was transferred to the account of Kanal T television station, owned by the Tatar family, through deposits at ATMs in Istanbul. Furthermore, the existence of a "car museum" under Falyalı's house is mentioned, where luxury vehicles were kept. Önal claims that the museum's operating license was granted by Tatar, resulting in significant tax relief for Falyalı. Finally, Önal mentions Erhan Arıkan as an "official case manager" who managed licenses and land grants, receiving a portion of the money as bribes. Tatar has categorically rejected the allegations, describing them as "completely unfounded and untrue".
