Venice Biennale: Over 150 Events with 470 Artists

The Venice Biennale presents a rich program with over 150 events and the participation of 470 artists from 48 countries. The program will continue in two phases, until June 21 and from July 17 to August 11, with the 20th International Contemporary Dance Festival directed by Wayne McGregor. This is followed by the 70th International Festival of Contemporary Music under the direction of Caterina Barbieri. Over 200 artists will participate in 55 events, including 11 productions and co-productions, 10 world premieres, two European premieres, and four Italian premieres. The title of this year's edition is “Alternative” or “Alter Native,” aiming to provoke thought about change and the nature of man or the culture of origin. Guests include Christos Stergioglou, Mario Banushi, the Indonesian group Bumi Purnati, and Emma Dante. The Dance Festival, titled "Il tempo non esiste," includes over 60 events, while the Music Festival, titled "A Child of Sound," includes over 40 events. The Festival also presents the world premiere of "Musica per una fine" by Ennio Morricone, an unreleased work based on a poem by Pier Paolo Pasolini. The Venice Biennale confirms its position as one of the most important art festivals in the world, promoting contemporary creativity and cultural dialogue.
