Mass Arrests in Abu Dhabi for Spreading False News

Police in Abu Dhabi have arrested 45 people of various nationalities for filming and publishing material related to the war in Iran on social media, violating the ban imposed by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on sharing unauthorized material that could disrupt public safety. The detainees are accused of sharing inaccurate and misleading information. The UAE authorities have warned residents and visitors to share information only from official sources, stating that sharing any material that could cause panic, harm national unity, or trigger tension could lead to fines or imprisonment. A British tourist was arrested in Dubai and charged after allegedly filming rockets targeting the city. The British tourist, 60, is said to have deleted the video immediately after the request of the authorities, claiming he had no bad intentions. These arrests highlight the UAE's strict stance against misinformation and its efforts to maintain public order during the regional crisis.
