Cyprus and Bahrain Sign Cooperation Agreement to Strengthen Economic Ties

The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the Bahrain-Cyprus Business Forum held in Manama. The aim of the MoU is to further strengthen bilateral economic and business relations between Cyprus and Bahrain. The forum was inaugurated with addresses by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, the Minister of Commerce and Industry of Bahrain, Abdulla Adel Fakhro, the President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sameer Abdulla Nass, and the President of the CCCI, Stavros Stavrou. President Christodoulides emphasized the willingness of both countries to deepen trade and political relations, while noting that strengthening the EU's economic ties with the Gulf countries is a priority of the Cypriot Presidency. Bahrain's Minister Abdulla Adel Fakhro highlighted the common features of the two countries, such as their economies based on services, tourism, and technology. The President of the Bahrain Chamber, Sameer Abdulla Nass, underscored that economic relations drive political ones and stressed that Cyprus can serve as a gateway for Bahraini businesses to the European Union. The President of the CCCI, Stavros Stavrou, stated that Cyprus can offer a strong and competitive option for Bahraini companies seeking access to the EU and the single market. The MoU is expected to create synergies and promote investment in areas such as technology, industry, agriculture, shipping, and investment.
