Michailidou: Meetings Begin for Teacher Evaluation System

The Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, Athena Michailidou, announced that the meetings of the Monitoring Committee for the new teacher evaluation system have begun. Educational organizations have already submitted their proposals, which are being studied by the Ministry, with the aim of finalizing the evaluation criteria by the end of February. At the same time, training sessions for educational officials regarding the new legislation have started, which was passed by the Parliament in December 2025. The training sessions are held in the mornings, so as not to disrupt the operation of schools, and are offered both online and in person. The Minister emphasized that the implementation of the new legislation is proceeding normally, according to the established schedule. The goal is to create a fair and transparent evaluation system that will contribute to improving the quality of education. The legislation provides for new evaluation criteria, which will take into account both the professional skills of teachers and their contribution to the educational community. The training sessions are designed to provide teachers with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the requirements of the new system. The Ministry is committed to continuing to support teachers in this process, providing them with access to additional training and resources.
