Presidency of the European Committee of the Regions Meets with Local Authorities in Cyprus

The Presidency of the European Committee of the Regions completed a two-day visit to Cyprus, as part of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union. During the visit, the Presidency met with local authorities and discussed issues such as the impact of EU decisions on citizens' daily lives, housing, water, education, and research. Visits were also made to the CYens Centre of Excellence and the CMMI Centre of Excellence, as well as discussions on the role of digital innovation, research, and blue technologies in strengthening the resilience of cities and coastal communities. The visit also focused on the challenges faced by the occupied and semi-occupied areas of Cyprus.
