Aiming for Distinction at the Balkan Indoor Championships

The 30th Balkan Indoor Athletics Championships for Men and Women will be held in Belgrade, Serbia, on February 21, 2026. Cyprus will be represented by five athletes and four female athletes, aiming for distinction and winning medals. The Cypriot team has already achieved success in previous Balkan Indoor Championships, with a total of 23 medals since 2014. The championship is expected to attract 292 athletes from 21 countries, with Turkey and Serbia having the largest delegations. The competitions will take place in the Indoor Athletics Hall in the Banica area of Belgrade, with 24 events (12 for men and 12 for women). The program includes direct finals in most events and final series in some sprints, due to the limited number of lanes. Semifinals and finals of the 60 meters and 60 meters hurdles will be held for both men and women. The event will be televised on Arena Sport 9, while the results will be available on the website https://serbia.opentrack.run/en-gb/x/2026/SRB/baich/. The Cypriot delegation consists of Antonios Katsantonis, Stavros Avgoustinou, Milan Trajkovic, Andranik Sarkis Astjian, Petros Michailidis, Stavri Filippou, Daphne Georgiou, Despoina Charalambous and Filippa Fotopoulou.
