CSE Closes Lower on Thursday

The Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) closed lower on Thursday, with the General Index reaching 293.93 points, recording losses of 1.13%. The FTSE/CySE 20 index closed at 174.99 points with a decrease of 1.37%, while trading volume amounted to €1,050,458.76. The Main Market recorded a decrease of 1.26%, the Alternative Market fell by -0.77%, and the Hotel Index recorded significant losses of 2.13%. The Investment Index showed a decrease of 0.96%. The highest trading volume was recorded in the share of Bank of Cyprus, followed by Dimetra Investment, Logicom, Eurobank and Petrolina. In total, 6 shares moved upwards, 9 downwards and 4 remained unchanged. The number of transactions amounted to 355. The decline of the CSE is due to negative performance in several sectors, with particular pressure on the hotel sector.
