US Deploys Largest Military Force to Middle East Since 2003 Invasion of Iraq

The United States is amassing a significant military force in the Middle East, the largest since the 2003 invasion of Iraq, intensifying indications that it is preparing for potential military action against Iran. Washington has dispatched advanced F-35 and F-22 fighter jets, as well as a second aircraft carrier and electronic warfare aircraft, to the region. Furthermore, command and control aircraft are en route, and air defense systems have been reinforced. President Trump is considering various military scenarios, including targeted strikes against Iranian officials, strikes on nuclear and ballistic facilities, or even an extended air campaign. While Trump prefers a diplomatic solution, Iran appears unwilling to accept U.S. demands, particularly regarding the termination of its nuclear program and the dismantling of its ballistic missiles. A meeting between U.S. and Iranian representatives took place in Geneva, with the American side reporting some progress, but noting that the gap between the two sides remains significant. Iran is expected to submit a more detailed proposal in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called for increased military pressure on Iran. The concentration of U.S. military forces allows the U.S. to carry out a multi-day or even multi-week air campaign against Iran, as opposed to a single strike like the previous “Midnight Hammer” operation. The situation in the region remains tense, with all sides demonstrating increased vigilance and readiness.
