Lavrov: Western Leaders are 'Seriously Preparing for War' with Russia

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Moscow remains open to diplomatic negotiations regarding the Ukrainian crisis, but accused the West of undermining any related efforts. He made strong accusations, arguing that statements by European leaders indicate serious preparation for war with Russia. Lavrov specifically mentioned the statements of Kaja Kallas, Ursula von der Leyen, Friedrich Merz, Keir Starmer, Emmanuel Macron, and Mark Rutte. He also expressed the view that the Western world order has collapsed and that the law of the strong prevails, referring to the situation in Greenland and comparing it to Crimea. Finally, he emphasized the unprecedentedly close relationship between Russia and China and expects the US to release Russian sailors in its custody.
