Record Year for Cypriot Tourism in 2025, Says Deputy Minister Kosti Komi

Deputy Minister of Tourism Kosti Komi has stated that 2025 is expected to be a record year for Cypriot tourism, despite international geopolitical and economic challenges. According to the data, Cyprus exceeded 4.5 million tourist arrivals, setting a new record. The loss of tourists from Russia and Ukraine was offset by an increase in arrivals from other markets, such as Israel, Poland, and Germany, which recorded a 28-year high. Furthermore, an increase was also observed from the Swedish and British markets, the latter of which was considered saturated. Komi emphasized the importance of cultivating a tourism culture, both by local authorities and by citizens themselves, in order to showcase traditional products and improve the tourist experience. The Deputy Minister announced that plans are underway to strengthen the traditional character of mountain communities and upgrade the tourism product of Nicosia. The goal is to create a more diversified and sustainable tourism sector that offers quality experiences to visitors. The interview with Kosti Komi was given as part of the 20th episode of TSOUROULLIS «UNCENSORED» on PoditCy, where the prospects and challenges of Cypriot tourism were discussed.
