KYSOA: Parathlete Marios Filippou Does Not Consent to Appear in Fydias' 'So-Called' Apology Video

The Cyprus Confederation of Organisations of People with Disabilities (KYSOA) announced that parathlete Marios Filippou has not consented to his image being used in a video described as a 'so-called' apology by MEP Fydias Panayiotou. KYSOA was authorized by the athlete himself to make this announcement. The organization expresses the view that the controversial remark made by the MEP, which he claims was unintentional, remains publicly available and is causing strong reactions. Furthermore, KYSOA considers the attempt to attribute political motives to public outrage as unacceptable and that the protection of human rights should not be seen as a political expediency.
