Dominant Disappointment in New Poll – Government in Deep Trust Crisis

A new poll by Prime Consulting reveals deep disappointment among Cypriot citizens towards the government and President Christodoulides. 71% of respondents state they are not satisfied with the President's work, while 50% express general disappointment with the political situation, compared to 58% in February 2026. Anger and uncertainty are also significant emotions, while positive feelings are minimal. The main problems concerning citizens are the Cyprus issue (23%), the economy and accuracy (18%), corruption (12%), and domestic issues (11%). This disappointment is not limited to specific issues but affects the overall governance, with 69% of citizens believing that a radical change of the political map is required. Despite a slight decrease in disappointment compared to February, the percentages remain overwhelmingly negative, indicating that dissatisfaction with the government is now dominant in Cypriot society. The government, after three years, has failed to reverse the negative climate. The poll demonstrates a deep crisis of confidence in the Christodoulides government, with citizens expressing strong doubts about its ability to address the significant problems facing Cyprus. The lack of progress on the Cyprus issue and the continued economic pressure are key factors in this dissatisfaction.
