Livestock Crisis and Government Inaction: AKEL Calls for Minister's Resignation

AKEL is calling for the resignation or dismissal of the Minister of Agriculture, Maria Panagiotou, due to the crisis in livestock farming and the general inaction of the government on important issues. The party criticizes the management of the fires in the mountainous region of Limassol, the water problem, and now the spread of foot-and-mouth disease, accusing the minister of incompetence and lack of responsibility. AKEL argues that the Minister of Agriculture does not inspire confidence and that the government is trying to blame the livestock farmers, instead of taking responsibility for its failures. The Citizens Movement also calls for the Minister's resignation. The Minister of Agriculture, for her part, seems to be shifting the responsibility to the President of the Republic, while AKEL emphasizes that the situation requires an immediate change in the leadership of the Ministry.
