Koumis Announces Cyprus-Serbia Tourism Cooperation Memorandum

Cyprus participated as the guest of honor for the first time in the Sajam Turizma 2026 tourism exhibition in Belgrade. During the exhibition, Cyprus and Serbia reached an agreement to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of tourism in the coming months. Deputy Minister of Tourism Kostas Koumis emphasized the importance of the exhibition for the Balkan countries and expressed his satisfaction with the contacts made. The goal is to maintain the successes of the previous year and increase tourist arrivals during the winter season. Serbia expressed a strong desire for closer cooperation in the field of tourism, while the prospect of cooperation in sports tourism was also discussed. The Memorandum of Cooperation will be signed in Cyprus in the coming months, in the presence of the Serbian Minister of Tourism. During his stay in Belgrade, Mr. Koumis had contacts with Serbian officials, tourism stakeholders, and representatives of Air Serbia, while presenting the renewed image of Cypriot tourism at the exhibition, with an emphasis on tradition and nature.
