EU Disburses €21.2 Million to Cyprus for Recovery

The European Commission has disbursed €21.2 million to Cyprus as the fifth payment under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF). This funding is intended to support Cyprus' economic recovery and resilience following the pandemic. The disbursement relates to reforms and investments in areas such as public administration, justice, transport, tourism, education, healthcare, and energy-efficient renovations. Cyprus had requested €70.5 million, but the Commission partially approved the request as the implementation of a reform regarding green taxation is still pending. The total amount supporting Cyprus' Recovery and Resilience Plan amounts to €1.02 billion.
