Geroskipou Swimming Pool: Reopening Within 2026 After Years

The Olympic Swimming Pool of Geroskipou is expected to reopen within 2026, after years of inactivity. The Municipality of Geroskipou, in cooperation with the KOA, is promoting the reconstruction project, worth 7 million euros, after the completion of the bid evaluation. The swimming pool had been closed since May 2022 due to serious structural problems, resulting in the temporary placement of supports. The works include the replacement of the pool walls, repairs to the tiling and the channel around the pool, waterproofing of the tank, as well as new electrical and mechanical installations. The majority of the funding will come from KOA funds. The reopening of the swimming pool is vital for the Municipality of Geroskipou and the sports infrastructure of the Paphos province, as it is used by national teams and foreign clubs for training and preparation. The presence of these missions significantly contributes to boosting the local economy. The reconstruction of the swimming pool is expected to promote sports tourism in Paphos and offer significant opportunities for local athletes and organized teams.
