Colombia: Petro Accuses Ecuador of Bombing Border Areas

The President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, accused Ecuador of bombing a border area of Colombia, under the pretext of fighting drug trafficking. He claimed that 27 charred bodies were found in the affected area and requested the intervention of US President Donald Trump. The President of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, rejected the accusations, arguing that the bombings hit locations on its territory, where hideouts of gangs linked to drug terrorism were located. Ecuador has launched a two-week operation to combat drug trafficking, with US support.
