Published February 16, 2026, 12:32

The 'Vitafree' factory, owned by the owner of 'Violanta', is temporarily closing from today, Monday, due to scheduled technical work. This move comes after the arrest of the owner in connection with the fatal explosion at the 'Violanta' factory in Trikala. The owner was arrested as the prosecutor upgraded the charges to explosion with possible intent and manslaughter, following the evaluation of new evidence from the investigation. He was initially arrested along with the safety technician and shift supervisor for manslaughter, explosion, and bodily harm. The new development indicates more serious charges and intensifies the investigation into the circumstances of the tragedy.
