YELLOW WARNING: Severe Winds and Storms – When it Takes Effect and How Long it Will Last

The Cyprus Meteorological Department has issued a Yellow Warning for a combination of adverse weather conditions valid from 10:00 PM today until tomorrow evening. The island is expected to be affected by rain, isolated thunderstorms, and very strong, locally severe winds of 6 to 7 Beaufort. Hail is possible during thunderstorms. Total rainfall is expected to exceed 55 millimeters locally within the next 24 hours. The warning primarily concerns coastal and mountainous areas. Citizens are advised to be prepared for potential problems caused by the extreme weather conditions.
