The Government Spokesperson, Konstantinos Letymbiotis, briefed the media on information regarding a suspicious object in the British Bases. The information was investigated and it was determined that the object was not directed towards the Republic of Cyprus or the Bases, resulting in the termination of the alarm. According to the Spokesperson, the information was received last night around 10:50 PM, and after activating security protocols, it was determined that no incident had occurred. The term "incident" is defined as an object with a confirmed direction towards the Bases or elsewhere. The government emphasizes the importance of evaluating every piece of information and implementing preventive measures in cooperation with its partners. When asked about the interception of objects by other countries, Mr. Letymbiotis replied that interception constitutes an incident and the government immediately informs about all data, ensuring transparency.
