Cyprus: Government Calls for Accurate Representation of the Island

Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis emphasized the importance of accurately and objectively portraying Cyprus, both domestically and internationally, following a meeting chaired by President Christodoulides. The meeting focused on the situation in the tourism sector and ensuring the correct image of the country. Mr. Letymbiotis stated that life in Cyprus is normal, despite exaggerations presented by some international media outlets. The government and stakeholders will remain in close coordination to take actions and make decisions. The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Transport, Labour and Social Insurance, and the Deputy Minister of Tourism. Various actions to be activated to maintain Cyprus's tourism product, which has shown an upward trend in recent years, were discussed. The government seeks to address the incorrect image created due to flight schedules from affected countries in the region and present the true picture of Cyprus as a safe and attractive tourist destination.
