No Suspicious Object Detected by F16s: Cyprus Government Spokesman

Following a meeting of the National Security Council chaired by the President of the Republic, Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis informed that the review of preventative security measures and the assessment of today's incident with a suspicious object in Lebanese airspace were completed. Two air assets operated for several hours without detecting anything suspicious. There was no closure of Cypriot airspace, but space was provided for the aircraft operation, resulting in a delay of two flights. The President of the Republic had a telephone conversation with the President of Lebanon to exchange views on the regional situation and today's incident. Additionally, the Ministry of Transport will issue a ban on the use of drones by private individuals, allowing their use only by government Departments with permission from Civil Aviation.
