A bus, with registration number TAA 970 K, lost control and fell into a ditch approximately 6 meters deep on the Nicosia – Famagusta highway, near the Halkbank junction. The accident occurred on the afternoon of February 13, 2026, as the bus, traveling towards Famagusta, collided with the median divider and subsequently went off course. The driver, Ali Keleci (58), and a passenger, Bogdan Sushchuk (20), were injured and transported to the "Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu" State Hospital of Nicosia. Their health condition is described as stable, and they continue to receive medical care. According to Kıbrıs Postası, the bus lost control after hitting the divider, collided with a wall, and ended up in the ditch with its tires facing upwards. The authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact causes of the accident and understand the circumstances that led to the loss of vehicle control.
