Cyprus Health Organization Denies Destruction of CT Scanner

The Cyprus Organization of State Health Services (OKYPY) denies allegations of destroying a CT scanner at Kyperounta Hospital, as reported by Omega Channel. According to OKYPY spokesperson Charalambos Charilaou, the scanner was transferred from Limassol General Hospital because the old equipment could no longer meet the hospital's needs. The device could not be installed at Kyperounta Hospital due to a lack of suitable infrastructure, and the supplier had lost the model's representation, making technical support impossible. Mr. Charilaou stated that the scanner had reached the end of its useful life and its replacement was necessary. This situation has led Limassol General Hospital to purchase CT scan services from private providers.
