Heavy Sentence in Limassol: 14 Years for 23-Year-Old in 'Vehicle-Warehouse' Drug Case

The Limassol Criminal Court has sentenced a 23-year-old to 14 years in prison for the case of the vehicle used as a drug warehouse. The defendant pleaded guilty to charges of illegal possession and supply of large quantities of narcotics, including cocaine, cannabis, MDMA, mushrooms with substances, as well as biscuits and sweets with HHC. The court described the case as organized crime involving the trafficking of large amounts of drugs and rejected the defendant's claim of a minor role, emphasizing his contribution to the operation of the circuit. Two other defendants also pleaded guilty and were sentenced to lesser penalties. During the investigation of the vehicle, authorities found 10 kilograms of cannabis, 20 kilograms of biscuits with HHC, 9 kilograms of jellies with HHC, as well as other narcotics and packaged electronic cigarettes with drugs. The case reveals the escalation of drug trafficking in Cyprus and the need for stricter repression of organized crime.
