Two Individuals Sentenced in Paphos for Drug Offenses – Penalties Imposed

The Paphos District Court today sentenced a 35-year-old and a 19-year-old to prison terms of three and a half and two and a half years respectively, after finding them guilty of illegally possessing narcotics with the intent to supply to others. The two men were arrested by members of the YKAN (Cyprus Drug Squad) in Paphos in September 2025, during a coordinated operation. In their possession, police found 62 grams of cannabis, 15 grams of cocaine, metal grinders, and a precision scale. The case concerns the illegal possession of a significant amount of drugs, leading to the imposition of strict penalties by the court. The conviction of the two individuals sends a deterrent message in the fight against drug trafficking in Cyprus. The YKAN operation was coordinated and led to the arrest of the two suspects and the seizure of the drugs. Effective police action is important for protecting society from the negative consequences of drugs.
