Cyprus Police Contribution to US Child Sexual Abuse Case Conviction

Cyprus Police played a crucial role in the identification, arrest, and conviction of a 53-year-old man in the US for child sexual abuse via the internet. The investigation began in 2020 with information received by the Cybercrime Unit. It was determined that the suspect resided in the US and had a long-standing history with numerous victims in various states. In collaboration with the FBI New York, more victims, aged 13-17, were identified. The 53-year-old was sentenced to 12 years in prison without the possibility of early release. Cyprus Police emphasizes the importance of cooperation between law enforcement agencies to combat cross-border crime and protect children.
