Colombian President Alleges US Strike on Cocaine Factory in Venezuela

Colombian President Gustavo Petro alleged that the US bombed a cocaine laboratory in the port city of Maracaibo, Venezuela. Petro stated that Donald Trump confirmed a US ground strike in Venezuela, but without specifying the exact location. Petro estimated that the facility belonged to the ELN rebel organization, which is involved in cocaine production. Trump said the strike occurred on a beach where boats were being loaded with drugs. The Venezuelan government has not issued an official statement. US armed forces have carried out around thirty aerial bombings against vessels carrying narcotics, resulting in the deaths of at least 107 people.
