Kassellakis: "Many Gays in Parliament and Government – Hiding Due to Fear of Image"

The president of the Democracy Movement, Stefanos Kassellakis, in an interview with KRITI TV, stated that there are many gay people in Parliament and the government who hide their sexual orientation for fear of their image. Kassellakis said that Greece is ready to have a prime minister who will not 'betray' the country, even if he is gay. During the interview, Kassellakis referred to his special relationship with Crete, expressing his desire to invest in the island. He also commented on issues such as OPEKEPE, gun ownership and the political system, criticizing corruption and injustice. Kassellakis criticized polls, calling them “completely useless,” and spoke about his term as president of SYRIZA, his declaration of assets and political collaborations. He stressed the need for political renewal with clarity and honesty. On a personal level, Kassellakis spoke about the power of authenticity, managing publicity and negative comments on social media, and his book “Second Chance”. Addressing young gay people, urging them to talk openly to their parents, he emphasized that beauty lies in the heart and not in external appearance. His husband, Tyler Mcbeth, spoke about their life in Athens and the importance of authenticity.
