Limassol Criminal Court: Suspended Sentence for 47-Year-Old – Key Witness in Argyros Murder Trial

The Limassol Criminal Court imposed a suspended sentence on the 47-year-old defendant in connection with the murder of 45-year-old Yannis Argyros, which occurred in May 2025. The sentence amounts to four months imprisonment for illegal use of cocaine, suspended for three years. The 47-year-old will testify as a prosecution witness against her ex-partner, who is accused of the murder. The defendant had pleaded guilty to charges of illegal possession and use of cocaine, while the charge of complicity after the crime was suspended by order of the Attorney General. According to her testimony, the 52-year-old confessed to her twice that he killed Argyros and showed her the weapon. The 47-year-old left the garage to obtain drugs, and shortly after, the 52-year-old called her to pick him up. She found him outside the garage with his clothes covered in blood, who revealed to her that he had killed Argyros. The defendant stated that her partner was excessively jealous of the victim. The 52-year-old denies involvement in the murder, however, the 47-year-old has testified that he confessed the crime to her and showed her the knife.
