Entire Photograph Collection of Kaisariani Execution Declared a Monument

The Ministry of Culture has declared the entire collection of photographs by T. de Craene / H. Heuer relating to the execution of the 200 in Kaisariani a monument, due to its historical value. The photographs, which capture moments from occupied Greece during World War II, had been posted on an auction platform and sparked strong reactions. They were subsequently withdrawn, however the collection remains available. The collection was created by a Wehrmacht lieutenant and captures the moments before the execution of the prisoners. The Minister of Culture described the photographs as important documents of Greek history, and the Ministry has already begun procedures to acquire them.
