First Fines Issued to Influencers for Unfair Advertising Practices

The Consumer Protection Service and the Advertising Control Authority have begun checks on influencers regarding the promotion of products on social media. Fines have been imposed and warnings have been sent for unfair practices, such as presenting commercial promotion as a “personal experience” without clear labeling. The checks focus on posts aimed at a young audience (18-25 years old). Nearly 4,000 posts from over 30 influencers have been checked. The aim is to ensure transparency in digital advertising.
