Kadis and von der Leyen Inaugurate European Ocean Days

President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and Commissioner for Fisheries and Oceans Kostas Kadis will inaugurate the European Ocean Days in Brussels on Monday, March 2nd. The event, held for the third year, will focus on initiatives within the European Ocean Alliance, ocean protection, the promotion of the blue economy, and the well-being of coastal communities. Discussions will include ocean diplomacy, research and innovation, ocean knowledge, competitiveness, coastal communities, and the Vision for Fisheries and Aquaculture by 2040. The event aims to place oceans at the heart of EU policy. The European Ocean Days bring together a wide range of stakeholders, including policymakers, scientists, industry leaders, start-ups, investors, and representatives from coastal communities. The event serves as a platform for dialogue and showcases the latest developments, such as the Digital Twin Ocean platform. Emphasis will also be placed on the growing investor interest in the blue economy. The goal is to contribute to a healthier, safer, and more sustainable ocean through collaboration and innovation.
