Revelry, Dance and Original Costumes at the Paphos Carnival Parade

The carnival parade in Polis Chrysochous was a great success, with a large number of carnival participants and spectators. The parade was characterized by original costumes, music, dance and vibrancy, with 21 teams participating. The event was presented by Rikkos Ioannou and Irini Tsiaouka. The parade was opened by the municipality's majorettes, followed by the municipality's float with Mayor Giorgos Papachristofou and Queen Dimitra Gouielmou. Afterwards, teams, organizations and groups paraded, sending positive messages. The first prize was awarded to the Drouseia Municipal District for its theme “Drousia Village Goes to Mykonos”, the second to the Neo Chorio Municipal District with the theme “New City Hospital”, and the third to the Prodromi Community Kindergarten with the theme “Bees”. The prizes amounted to 500, 300 and 200 euros respectively. After the parade, a carnival fiesta followed in the renovated Town Hall Square, with music, dance and food. The event was a complete success, offering fun for all participants.
